2. Check that you know the six main symptoms of CO poisoning

Carbon Monoxide is a highly poisonous gas that can kill quickly and without warning. You cannot see it, taste it or smell it.

The six main symptoms of carbon monoxide poisoning are headaches, dizziness, breathlessness, nausea, collapse and loss of consciousness.

All homes should have an audible carbon monoxide alarm installed. Alarms should be marked EN50291 and display the British Standards Kitemark. A carbon monoxide alarm should be treated as important as your fire alarms. Why not test yours is working properly this week?
